Got hit on at work today sort of . I had to deliver some parts at the engine plant where I now work. I have had to do it off and on for several weeks now (It's a long story).
anyways, I took these parts to the plant from the warehouse. Two women that work side by side on the assembly line were near the station that I had to drop of these particular parts at. The brunette hollers at me to come over there so she can ask me a question. I go over and she says her friend wants to know if she can get my number. I says "who's your friend?". She says it's the girl working next to her but she's shy. She has seen me coming into the plant all these weeks delivering parts and wants my number so she can call me. I look over at this pretty blond who is afraid to look up. She's to shy.
The women says her friend wants to call me bad and get together. Just then the women speaking to me notices the wedding brand on my finger and says "Whoops" and laughs a bit nervously.
I was grinning from ear to ear. I didn't know what to say really; other than I was flattered. What a bummer knowing I'm wanted and can't do anything about it. Even though I have been told if I want some loving I best get it somewhere else cause it's not going to happen here. And it hasn't in a very long time. I just can't do it though while I'm married. It wouldn't be fair to all involved. Guess I'm just weak.

Being what my marriage is now, I could have easily taken her up on her offer to get together. It would have been so easy but I didn't. It is extremely flattering to know though that at least someone wants me. I haven't heard that or felt it in a very long time.

No Lottery again? The vast majority has spoken and said that a lottery is wanted here in North Carolina. It's just stupid not to have one here. After all, tickets are being bought by North Carolinians who spend millions every year in surrounding states.
It just proves that our state Representatives do not listen to us nor care one iota what we think or want. They don't want to hear us on anything. They feel that they are above and beyond all of us and do as they please. They are not the voice of the people. They are the voice of themselves and that is who matters most to them. Not us.

Get those old mothball ways of thinking hay wagon riders out of there and let's get in some younger ones that have today's thinking in mind. It is ludicrous for them to say that not only the poor would spend more money on a lottery but the rest of us too. They think that all of us can't decide on our own how to spend our money. So they wish to keep deciding it for us. And what they wish us to spend it all on is them. Who do they think that they are kidding up there.

Shoot, people are spending the money already outside the state. Who do they thing that they are: treating us like kindergarten children who need to be told what they want. They would prefer that we just turn over all of our money to them whenever they decide that they need a pay raise. They all can't get together on anything themselves like a bunch of school kids arguing on bills and laws that we have to many of already. I see the old men snoozing away on the Television when the sessions are televised. The speaker on the floor will be just talking away while the rest of the disinterested room is talking amongst themselves about different things. Heck, they make enough already for doing nothing. I need a job doing that. I can sit there and read my paper, drinking coffee and taking nap's every hour to earn a large undeserved wage.

All you have to do is say a few words against the other guy and then call it a day. "Mr. Speaker. I'd like to ad my comment on that please. Lottery good. Help lots of people and the State too. I have done my days work so I'll be heading down to the golf course now. See you all tomorrow."
And don't tell me that they have to have the two or three houses and that their travel expenses and living expenses are more important than ours.

It looks to me as if the majority has already spoken, and loudly enough to be heard.
Maybe what all of our representatives need are better hearing aids so they can hear us better.
Who are they representing? It's surely not me. Is it you?
The space shuttle. What a huge waste of money of another flying albatross. What good is the program for anything anyhow? Has it done anything for world hunger or perhaps finding cures for disease. It is clear to see that the safety, once again, takes the back burner over all else. Those things are nothing more than orbiting coffins just waiting for disaster to strike out at those who ride inside. Like captives to the corporate machine.

Why all the hoopla of exploring the moon was razed long ago is beyond me. We got there and walked around a bit. Brought back some moon rock and dust while leaving our trash behind. Most everyone at the time thought that it would lead to a new beginning of some sort. Only the very rich and powerful would have lived there anyway. It's a joke to think that all of the rest of us would have been able to afford the price of entry to the paradise of the rich. We would have been made slave laborer's to the wealthy. Those of us who would have been chosen to go there. The dreams of building great city's there died out too. Maybe it was because that there was nothing that we could destroy or pollute fast enough. Nobody to kill and take anything from to claim victory for all man kind.

The money, time and effort would be much better to put to use right here on earth. Feed the hungry, cloth the poor and finance health care for all. Now that would be an accomplishment to be proud of. Something of real substance instead of putting lives at stake for nothing really.

All of the space shuttles should be grounded for all time. The only benefit to the space program for man kind is if we built a big prison on the moon. Now that would serve a real purpose.

Damn! What a pisser of a year so far.
My wife's car breaks down at the beginning of summer to the tune of $600. Chevy Lumina with its factory defective intake gasket. The first time it happened it was still under warranty luckily. Thirty thousand miles later, it happens again. This time it comes out of our pockets, even though the mechanics say that Chevy knows that it is a defect with all the engines in these cars and mini vans. I think that it should be covered under the lemon law. We were told to expect to have to replace it again in another thirty thousand miles. The darned things are made from a hard plastic that crack and cause a coolant leak. Most people think that their water pump has gone bad when it happens. I'll bet that more than one owner has paid a large price for these repairs.

After my wife's car gets fixed, not three weeks goes by and my clutch on my truck goes out. That cost six hundred dollars to get fixed as well. It happened at a bad time but, its the only major thing that has gone wrong with my Ford Ranger in thirteen years. It had over 110,000 miles on it before it went out. I did get tons more life out of my other Rangers clutch. However, it never pulled the kind of weight that this Ranger has pulled. Surprisingly, this truck is much heavier than you would think with the king cab and four wheel drive. It is just a much more beefier made vehicle.

Our home air-conditioner went on the fritz this summer as well.

The concert gig fell flat and I lost some money on that.

Our ceiling fan in the living room just gave up tonight.

We had the main drain pipe from the kitchen and washer bust under the house. What a mess that was for me to be crawling around in all night trying to get it fixed. Course, I had to lay down in it as the space is small down there. The trap clean out that goes to the street wouldn't budge, so I had to take the pipe loose. Then I discover that the old cast iron pipe has a crack in it after I get it all back together and it still leaked. Had to undo it all and start over. By then it was late at night and I couldn't get parts to fix it. Digging up the cast iron pipe to replace it would have been very costly. So I repaired the broken spot with an epoxy made to work on cast iron the next day. She still holds now.
Thing is, that last night the whole works starts backing up again so we get a plumber out here today to clean it out. The clog is twenty feet out and down the pipe so my sewer rat wouldn't touch it. The plumber blew out the pipes after using their rig on it. They said my patch was fine and wouldn't suggest replacing the cast iron pipe all the way to the street. It was just years of buildup and it happens. Half a gallon of Clorox down the pipe every month should keep the grunge eaten out.

My job went to shit and I wasn't ever going to go anywhere there anymore. It was a dead end. Several people have left the place because of their business practices and how they have begun to treat their long term employees. Just saw another man who left a week after I did. He said that the owner asked him what he though the reason was that people keep leaving. Ken told him straight up about how they treat people and customers like dirt. Ken also told him how he and the others just don't appreciate the lies that employees are told and customers are pulling out for the reason also.
my cousin in-law knows the owner before he ever had his own business. John used to always call her for her advice on matters as she is someone that he will listen to. He got the big head and tried talking to his customers like he does to his employees and it back fired on him. He lost a multi-million dollar customer for his attitude. She also said that every since he turned the business over to his son-inlaw and son, that it has gone down hill fast.
"You can't treat people that way and expect them to stay around. And your two boys are running the place into the ground. " she told him

Not to mention that he wouldn't give pay raises for over seven years because he was buying up old vacant business properties that were costing money to just sit. Can't keep them rented out so he quit giving pay raises to cover his losses. All of his trucks and other equipment are past there prime and under federal law, will all have to be replaced next year because they are to old to be on the road. I was only one of the five that had been with him from the beginning that were left. We were the loyal ones and they started treating us like we didn't know anything about our jobs. What the deal is, is that his son in-law and son wanted to cut costs by pushing us out.
Not to forget that they continually make drivers run over their mandated hours and how unsafe a lot of their equipment is maintained. Forklifts included. If you told them that a piece of equipment was unsafe, they'd just tell you to keep running it anyway.

I finally got fed up with the unsafe practices, like the others did, that they do on a daily basis. Someone is going to get killed there and I'm just glad that I won't have to be there to see it. Or it to be me. So I took a lower paying job because of their many bad practices and treatment. Like thumbing their noses at the D.O.T and OSHA and even the fire Marshall.
Others are doing the same. And with today's job situation, you know it must be bad to leave a place after so many years. Speculation from other business people is that they will be out of business within the next twelve months. Glad I'm gone before that happens.

Well, that's my rant for the day.

See if this works.

Ever had one of these days? Looks like someone I know except their hair is a bit greyer now. hehe

Well didn't work. Oh well.
Another illegal alien story was told to me today by a tax preparer. It is a pisser how our government allows such things while the rest of us have to play by different rule.

She told me that she does taxes for more and more illegals now than before. Did you know that if an illegal is working here, they can claim anyone in their family as a dependent? Yep. Even if the said relatives are living in Mexico. She was a bit angry about them claiming all of these so called dependents if they file tax here. One person got back over six thousand bucks from us when they filed and they hadn't pain in nearly that in taxes. They can file here if they have a INS or something like that.
Another fellow came in last year wanting to see about getting his taxes done but he didn't use a bunch of dependents. He was single and didn't know the game. When she did up his taxes for him, lo and behold he would have to pay in. He told her to forget it and walked out.

Nothing you can do about it she said. It's all legal by our government.
I'm sick of getting the shaft. How about you????

I wish to be a full time writer as my main source of income. Like music, it is a tough business to get into. I currently have a staff writing position with a web magazine, www.garagechoppers.com, and have enjoyed it there so far.
My goal however, is to be able to do it full time. Cruising the country for stories about people and places on two wheels.

One day perhaps, it will materialize for me and I can do what I love. I have toyed with writing off and on for years. But this time with the garage choppers is the longest that I have ever stuck with it. I dream about being a full time writer in my sleep. 9-5 jobs suck and I'd be much happier doing a job that to me, wouldn't feel like a job.

We all want that one though don't we??

To Many commercials on the television these days. If you are like me, money is tight and the television is the only entertainment you can afford most often. I can remember the day when you could sit down to watch a show without a commercial break every three minutes. I mean, they can drag a movie out for ever.

It started to get worse in the eighties and I would do like that tootsie pop commercial of the seventies. You remember the one with the owl and the kid asking "How many licks does it take to get to the center?"
I got where I would count commercials inbetween the show which was usually four or so. Now there are more like ten or more. After each one is done and moves to the next, heck I don't even remember any of them. You get so bombarded with so many at a time.
Once was a time when the family could sit down to watch a television show or movie at home while you ate dinner. Now, you can sit down and be finished with the whole meal without even seeing the show because the commercials take up so much time. These stupid things just kill the mood of the movie.
But oh, in the old days if you needed a bathroom break or some fresh drink, you had to rush or miss part othe show. Today you can run to the store and buy the groceries, come home and cook it, eat it, then go sit in the bathroom for forty five minutes, walk the dog, wash the car and still catch the show. After all the shows are only around ten minutes long now if you time them. The rest is commercials.

How many of us even go out to buy what is in these over priced and vast amount of commercials thrown at us?

And lets not forget the maybe one or two visits to the theatre a year. The price of getting in and buying some snacks is sky high. That's because they have to cover the cost of the very large mega plex that makes the whole thing less fun. But then you sit down and wait for the show to start and again, you find that you have to sit through twenty minutes of commercials. Not snack bar commercials like days of old but many of the same ones that you see on the television at home. I'm paying to see the movie and yet I'm paying to see commercials that I could give a rats ass about. What ever happened to the great cartoons that were shown at the theatre while waiting for the movie to start? I came to be entertained not turned into a commercial zombie.

Don't forget the annoying little pop up commercials that come on the television now during the movie and sitcom shows. They cover up part of what you are trying to get into and it ruins the whole show. Flashing up here then bouncing over there.

The same goes for the radio. Play two short songs then you have ten minutes of commercials, then a song and another ten minutes of commercials. I have found myself just reaching and turning off the radio when a commercial comes on. I don't want to hear them.

Wonder if I can sue my old boss and the company for verbal breach of promise? I mean, hmmmmmm, other people sue every day for lesser things and win. I had gone four years ago to get another job. I got hired by two other companies and was deciding which offer to except before telling my boss I'd found another job. I called one company, thanking them for the offer, and declined because the other company offered a bit more pay. Then I called the other and told them that I accepted their offer for the job.

The next day, the company that I declined the offer from, called me back and offered me the pay I had been going for, plus a dollar more. But I still declined, however, the recruiter told me that if I ever changed my mind, to give him a call. They would certainly like to have me on their team.
I have to say that after both of these companies had made me the job offers and in fact, both had given me the job, I was walking in the clouds. In a sense, I had three jobs for a couple of days and had to make a tough decision on which one to take.

After making my decision, I went and told my current boss that I had found another job.
Much to my surprise, he pulled me aside and asked me if I was happy there then wanted to know the reasons for my leaving. After explaining it to him, he asked that if he could get me a bit more money would I stay. I said that I'd think about it.
(I've touched on this before here)
He comes back later and tells me that they would truly like me to stay because I had been such a loyal and good employee. He praised me for the job that I had been doing and said that if I stayed, they would give me a bit more money as well. We had a talk and he stated that they had plans for me and one other to be over the running of the whole warehouse end. He went on to say that the plans had been made for him to take a more active roll in the running of the business side and they would need me to run things on this end.
So I thought about it and he asked if I was okay with that. He even asked me after the talk "Are we okay now? Are you going to stay?"
I told him that enlight of what he promised me that sure, I liked it there and the people too and, actually I didn't want to leave but had felt that I wasn't going anywhere. He told me outright that it would be around six months before I could get any more money and to be patient. They would take care of me if I was willing to stick with them. (His words passed on to me from above) So I told him that I would stay.
He passed on also, that they appreciated all that I had done for them over the years and felt very lucky to have me in their employ.

So I gave up the other offer for the other job based on the promises that I was made. (I made note of the conversation, date and time and with whom I had spoken to in my daily minder. With a brief description of the account of the conversation)
I believed them and felt good about my self and the situation there that I had help them to build over many years. They hadn't known much at all about the running of a warehouse when they hired me to help organize it into what it is today. The place was a disorganized mess when I got there with stuff everywhere. You had to hunt and hunt to find anything. It was taking to much man power and time. After I and one other fellow got it into shape, it actually saved them money and the time to get something from racking to truck was so efficient that customers in a very timely fashion. Very little shipping mistakes and happy customers.

I can't remember all of the times that customers came in and remarked at the efficiency and well organized way things were being done. They always remarked at how efficient things were done there and that they had never seen such a clean and well organized warehouse in all their years.
The way I and the other man had set things up made them a well oiled machine that other companies tried to copy in there own operations. The warehouse division grew and grew and they had to add on twice and even take in some outside buildings to accommodate new customers who wanted us to handle their warehousing needs. It had gone from a little 30,000 square foot operation to close to 100,000 + in four short years with minimal shipping errors. And we never had enough room for more customers who turned over most of their storage and shipping needs to us.

The owner of the company even made comments for years to the lady who had put us together at what a great job I was doing for them. She told me that he was always thanking her for sending me his way. He just couldn't thank her enough or say enough about my job performance and sense of pride in my job. His reports to her were always about how much of a fine job I was doing. I would swell with pride each time she would tell me about what he said about me to her. She said that it made her feel good knowing that she had recommended me and that I had not let her down.

I was just so confused when they got to that point that after all of that, they wouldn't give me a raise. And then later to make me a promise to stay and get more money for helping to make them what they are today, they breached the verbal promise and hand shake as I walk away with nothing to show for it at all. I'm left standing with egg on my face. I was a sucker alright to buy into empty promises. I trusted and believed them and took them at their word. After all. I had given my word and kept it. Why should I think that they wouldn't do the same.

I turned down a better job with more pay for lies. I trusted them to be men of their words and put a lot into what they said, them all being so religious and all. I thought they they actually meant what they said. Boy was I a fool.

Wish that I could sue them for that promise. I know several practices that OSHA would shut them down for in the last four years. But that would put me on their and I'm bigger than that. Still wish that I could sue them though for taking money out of my pockets. Maybe if I had spilled some coffee on me I could have been sitting on easy street. But I'm not that way.

Guess I'll just always just be a sucker for a mans handshake and his word.
The Rolling Stones concert at Boston's Fenway Park on August the twenty first will be the biggest ticket scalping event to date. Ameriquest, the main sponsor of the concert, gave Arnold Schwarzenegger more than three dozen center stage and luxury box seats. The key word here is gave.

It has been reported that Arnold will host a private reception for forty guests who give $10,000 a piece to his campaign account. Guests who give a whopping $100,000 a piece to Arnold's November eighth special election, will be invited to watch the concert with Arnold in a luxury box seat.

Now, I like the Stones and I like Arnold as an actor but isn't ticket scalping a crime? Usually, complementary tickets have a stamp on them that reads something like "Not for sale" or "Complimentary" or close to that. The sale of these tickets and for anything other than face value is against the law. By putting a price on them instead of giving them for free as they were given to him is, like I said, illegal.

I think that it is plain to see what Arnold's agenda is actually aimed at. Political gain at someone else's expense.
Besides, the prices he has set are such a ludicrous amount. He would have been better off just inviting a bunch of well deserving tax payers as it would have gone further for his credibility as a humanitarian. Not to mention boosting his reputation as a man for the people.

Come on Arnold, aren't you being a little bit greedy here. I can just see others in court now when caught for scalping tickets so they can feed their families for a week. "Your Honor. Why is it okay for a politician but the man on the street goes to jail?"

New job is ok, not great but ok. I'm still keeping my eye out for something that I may wish to really do.
Don't want to forget that I'd still like to get the Motorcycle magazine going on a shoe string budget. Easy Rider and Playboy started on a show string. You did know that both of those were put together on a kitchen table, right? There wasn't a ton of money to sink into it at the time. I have been told, and shown, that it would take big bucks to get something like this off of the ground these days. I wonder if Hugh was told that in the beginning also.
I have to get something off of the ground or I will go bonkers.

You aren't going to make the big time working for someone else and gain the satisfaction either.

The concert promotion gig is not ready to be canned yet but don't know how I'm going to pull another one off.
I just can't remember how many times that I've been told that I have some good business ideas. And there have been so many. The ultimate killer of each one has been the lack of funds. Just how do you get up funds these days without a large bank roll? Determination is not good enough in these times.

At one time I was working on building up a small engine repair shop. After several years of being small, it finally started to grow out of my shoestring budget. My garage was full of Rider mowers and the tiny shop crammed with push mowers and other equipment too. I also would go to peoples homes to do repairs and larger repair jobs I would pick up and bring back for free.
The catch of going bigger and full time was the need for a building and a license to be able to buy parts at the shop owners rate. I had all the forms from the big engine suppliers but needed a business address and building for them to sell to me. The city would not give me a license to work from home even if it was just a mobile repair shop. It also stated that anything work related would have to be left in my truck and never brought onto my residential address.
Any way, that being the case, I was at the point that I either had to grow or quit. I couldn't grow because I couldn't afford a building right off the bat and now the city even said that I could not do any repairs out of my home anymore.
So I was stuck because you can't make money and cover overhead when you can only buy parts at the regular market price from another repair shop.

Oh well, Maybe somehow I can get the magazine going on a small basis because that is one job, like the concert business, that you can do from home. You know, a home office type of deal that is legal to do because its not considered industrial like repairs.
Starting all Over at Age forty three

I thought that I was somebody
Then I found out that I wasn’t
I worked hard each and every day
While others just wanted to play

Can’t believe how the company did me
After all, It was I, never called in sick
Hardly ever even took a vacation day
All the years invested playing the game

Made sure I was always on time
Not like a lot of those others you see
Who came and went it just seemed
To always do just as they pleased

Promises were made and they asked me to stay
Believed all their lies, four years to the day
Was expected to keep on and run the show
While the bosses decided to vacation and go

Gave me more work but without the pay
I surely regret it all to this day
Company loyalty is what they still want
Employee loyalty, is something for not

Starting all over again, at age forty three
It is slowly, so slowly killing me
No one to talk to, they wish not to hear
I would go get drunk, but I’d fail, I fear

Wake up in the morning, stomach in knots
Now working for wages that pay very little
I feel like a failure and others see me that way
After all I’ve been nowhere, the sky is so gray

Oh I have to mention this band called Canvas. I don't actually know how to describe them other than they are fantastic. They are a group out of Texas with a sound that is very much different than anything out there these days. I just love the beat and complete sound as well as the words to the song Jezebel.

If you want to check these fellows out then go to www.canvas-online.com

They have another album that is coming out very soon and I can't wait to have one.

Maybe tomorrow I'll touch on Robert Johnson and his blues.
So now Bush gets concerned with health costs rising.

Health cost is through the roof as most people very well know. Mine was taking half of my pay every month. It got to the point that it was getting hard to pay my other bills much less put food on the table. It felt like I was at mother hubbards house each time I looked on the pantry. So I left that job just this month as the health insurance went up yet again. Now at my new job I can get coverage for around seventy one dollars a week. Granted it is a temporary job at the moment, but I had no choice in the matter. So now Bush says that he is concerned about all of us who are getting hit hard with rising health costs. Congress and all don't really care about it you know. Why? Because they get theirs for free for life from us. We pay their medical costs and they get another free ride.

I was scheduling surgery while still with the previous insurance company but had to put that on hold as our company was fixing to switch. So when they did, I received a call from the surgeons office that the new insurance company had approved the surgery. But there was a catch to it. Being that I had not met the deductible yet (well Duh ) I was required to pay five hundred dollars up front first. I didn't have nor would I be able to because my wife's car had broken down and cost around four hundred to fix. Then my truck broke down right after that and cost me over six hundred to get it fixed.
And here is another kicker. After the company had just moved to the new health insurance carrier, my son had to be taken to the emergency room in the middle of the night. He came out just fine and we are grateful for that. However, I get a letter from the insurance company that they are only going to cover part of the bill. We have to make up the other two hundred or so ourselves.

So I ask you, after paying $778 for the premium a month, what good is insurance if you get socked with half or more of the bill anyway?
Health insurance is a loose cannon out there and they don't care about anything except the stock holders. I mean, you pay such a large amount and they refuse to cover almost everything.
Not to mention that they can lie to you and tell you anything and you have no recourse.
I know what I'm talking about because we have been in contact several times at the insurance commissions office.

My son even got turned down by social security because he won a settlement in court when he almost died at the day care he was at when he was two years old. The money is in a trust fund for him until he is around twenty four years old. He is eleven now and has been shut out for getting what he deserves health coverage wise.
Oh. And my wife and I did check into getting our own coverage but the considered her a high risk and wanted to penalize her because she has to be on thyroid medication the rest of her life. And my son........ Well they turned him down flat.

Cups in the sink when I get home and I don't get it.
I am the dishwasher in the house. After every meal it is I who has to do the dishes. Now, the fact that I have to do the dishes does not bother me one bit. The wife does the cooking so I should be the one to do the cleanup.

But, what I don't get is how, when I get home from work, that the sink is full of so many dishes that you'd think five people had been here. My son is the worst one when it comes to using cups. Instead of rinsing out one cup, he will use a different one every time he gets something to drink. Not to mention that his cups of milk lay around all day and leave a ring that is tough to get out.
We have both gotten on to him about it at different times. We, his parents, have both seen him get something to drink and then thirty minutes later see him walking around with a different cup. Today there were six cups in the sink waiting for me when I got home and a host of dish ware to boot. Now this might seem a bit picky to you but what it is, is a bit of laziness on his part. He is eleven and he has been taught how to do his part in washing but its like pulling teeth. Getting him to make up the bed is just as bad. When confronted, he says he didn't have time cause he was in to much of a hurry.

I tried doing what my parents did to me when I was a kid and would leave cups and plates laying around the house during the summer. I'd get home and find them on my bed. My wife didn't like that idea much. One of the few times that I did it, he came out of his room with a scowl on his face. He actually stood there and tried to scold me for it.
I said "look son. We have been on you about this for some time now. From now on you will find them in your room if left around the house. I'm the parent and you are the child. You will not use that tone or look with me. Understand?"
"But, but ..." He says
"Do you understand me?" I question.

He nods his head as he stomps off to the kitchen with his load.
So at least he now puts them in the sink.
Now if I can get him to put down his video games for fifteen minutes out of his busy day to wash them up. Better yet would be for him to rinse out just one cup a day and use it. Being that he always has something to drink with him through the day.

Illegal immigrants, I wish the Government would stop ramming this crap down our throats about how illegals contribute to our economy. Its a crock of of steaming bull. I wish that I had kept the paper that I had that was talking about the millions, the millions that are coming across the borders. Then they want us to provide for them and give them all this free this and free that. The local paper even has articles trying to make us feel sorry for them and their plight.
First off, they are illegals and therefore the only thing we should give them is a one way ticket to out of here. If they wish to come here and live legally, I have no problem with that. Even commercials now are being broadcast in Spanish. According to the DMV in North Carolina, There are thousands of Mexicans that registered their automobiles here but never paid the vehicle taxes. So, that's money that the state is losing and we the tax payers must make up the difference in lost revenue. Officials have said that they can't collect because the illegals move around to much.
You see, in North Carolina, they don't make you pay for vehicle tax at the time of tag procurement. No! They bill you for that later.
When I lived in Georgia, you had to pay all taxes and tag fees at the time you renewed your tag. Can't pay the tax, then no tags. Plain and simple I thought. That's another thing, most have no auto insurance. They get the cheapest insurance so they can get a tag then let insurance lapse.

Here is another crock. When an illegal comes over here and the women have a child, the Government says the child is then a Mexican American and thusly, is entitled to all rights as an American. They don't want to punish the child because the parents are illegal.
But lets look back for a second in my dusty mind. It seems to me that a teacher once explained to our class many years ago about being born in another country. She told us that if someone in our class had a parent that was pregnant and say those parents went to England or Spain on a vacation or business trip, even though the child was born over seas, that didn't mean they were citizens of that country. Your parents are legal residents of America and that makes you a US citizen regardless of where your born. I mean if that wasn't the case, then why are all these children of American parents that were born overseas still Americans. Get it.

So these illegals that have children here are not American citizens, and their children, just because they are born on our soil, are not American either.

Now back to all the illegals crossing our borders everyday. I forget how many that they say get here every year illegally. But I wonder how they can give us such firm numbers in their so-called reports. I mean, where exactly are they getting this info? And if they are standing there counting them as they come across, then why the hell aren't they sending them back? Jeez the stupidity of it all makes me wonder whose watching anything.

And about the language barrier and our catering to them by everything here having Spanish and English on it, what the heck is that all about? Can you think of any other foreign group that America has done that for ever in such mass proportions. Add to that the television ads that are now plastered all over the screen.

Quit sugar coating the whole mess to make it sound good because the officials aren't doing their job.

ARRRGGGGGHHHHH . It makes me angry

Concert promotion can be a tough experience and is not for the weak kneed. I had done plenty of research on the subject before I jumped into it. I thought that I knew what to expect. No amount of reading and research will prepare you for it all the way. It is something that you have to actually do to find out what is involved. If you don't like hard work and many hours then forget it. But, once you get one under your belt you will have learned some tough lessons that will help you with the next one.

Now, I had been in contact with a couple of big time promoters when getting ready to do my first one. One in particular was a great help and I poured over the information that he gave me from his successes and failures. A few of his words were very blunt and somewhat harsh. But, everything I was told was up front and honest.

I am preparing to do another one as I won't give up on it. The rewards can be extremely rewarding. I have fallen hard and had to carry it through to the end. Even though I lost big time on the first one, I held my head up against all the odds that were stacked against me and finished what I set out to do. Just one more person to pay off debt to and then I'll do it again.
I believe that some people think that I am done with it because I have not relayed my plans to anyone yet.

But I'll be back better than before.

Hurting Lies

Mama, It's been going around
That you've been all over town
Telling hurting lies on me

Saying that I've been doing
Things so they will ruin
Any respect that I ever had

Mama you know it's all untrue
What did I ever do so bad to you
That you would want to take me down

Mama, you have been talking behind my back
Hope I have a heart attack
So you can dance on when I'm in the ground

Well, I have never met you girl
And we never had a whirl
You'll never be in any of my dreams

Ahhh - Mama, you saw me play guitar
Down in some old smoky bar
That's the closest we've ever been

So girl let me tell you this
I've never even met you miss
All these people think your a clown

Just go get back in your car
Go try out some other bar
All your time just wasting on me

Cause your charms won't work on me
Your charms don't work on me
Your charms and me will never be.
