Picture publishing from my downloads is giving me a fit.
I'm no computer junkie so that makes it even harder. I looked up at the clock and realized that I have been trying to figure out how to get some cool Motorcycle pictures, sent to me in downloads and emails, to my blog spot for almost three hours. I went this way and that way but can't get it to work. Edit paste, nope that won't work. Drag to the site, nope that won't work. Cut and paste, nope that won't work either etc etc. Then I stumbled up on something I thought would work and moved the picture but it went up but not on the site. Where the hell did it go? F%$K if I know what happened to it. It's now floating around out there somewhere. I can put up pictures from my picture section but not from emails and downloads. Of course when ever I consult the help section what I need to find is never in there. Never. Pages and pages of garbage that never relates to what I am looking for.
I was getting extremely pissed off at all of this and got up to get a hammer to beat the crap out of this computer. Then I started typing this and got to laughing. But I know me and if I begin again to try and figure it out right now.....I'll get so blanking pissed that I'm gonna bust something up. I have a good mind to drag this thing down the road letting it bounce off the pavement some. Then what ever is left will become the victim of twelve gauge shotgun rage blasted into itty bitty pieces.
Then I'll sit back and laugh....laugh like a mad man. After that I'll piss all over it too. LOL

Been busy busy over here. I have been working like a dog compiling a list of advertisers for the magazine. That is harder work than I would have thought. After things get going, they will seek us out I hope. So far I have a list of over two hundred to contact and still growing.
This whole thing is beginning to consume my every free moment again like my other venture had done. For some reason I just seem to like the pressure and excitement of the unknown of a business venture where as I get almost to the point of burn out going it alone. C'ept this time I do have people on board, I hope they are still with me, to be on staff.
But I get a new wind and keep at it because I have to. I don't have to because someone else says I have to. Rather my own little spot in my brain says to keep at it. It should not be the destination that keeps you at it. No! It should be the journey. When I finally am able to let go and do that myself then things will all fall into place.
Every business owner that I have ever talked to has said the same thing to me and pointed out all the drawbacks. That is the biggest killer for most people is thinking to much and to hard about what the drawbacks are. None of these owners has ever dwelled on the good side of running a business. But there must be a good side or they wouldn't be doing it would they. Seems as if they believe that you have to go it the hard way yourself before being accepted as one of them. That is why they enjoy telling only the downside of it. Then I think to myself: "I can think about all the bad chit myself man. Why don't some of you give me the upside of things and give success pointers. I have ship loads of the downside of things."
When I get a bit frustrated I'll remember what Mark Twain wrote:
" Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than the ones you did. So throw off the bow lines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream."
My most creative time is at night. Why? Hell I don't know that answer myself. But I remember back in school that all of my best work was done late at night. Maybe it was the quietness and the fact that my mind could seep into what I was doing without interruptions. Thoughts and ideas were/are able to flow in unfettered by dailey demands of the outside worlds on the waking hours.
"Go Ahead and Jump.......and hope the chute opens."
WooleyB
I'm going to put that on T-Shirts.
I remember when that popped into my head while speaking with one of my brothers. I could see myself always at the edge wondering what the plunge would be like but never took the chance. Since then I took the plunge into the unknown not knowing how things would turn out. It was pretty scary stepping and free falling but the rush was living life. It was exciting at the same time because it was my brainchild and I took it from nothing and made it happen. It wasn't even real until it was over and done with then it was "Damn. Look what I accomplished."
Now I don't have to look back on that particular venture when I'm on my death bed and wonder...What if.

Hardley-Davidson's seem to be coming from everywhere these days. Bike builders are just popping up all over trying to cash in on the phenomenon of the motorcycle craze.
I can't help but notice the ones that have prices so high that only a rich dude could afford. This drives prices up on the others as well. A bunch of these rides, are looking like cookie cutters, and you see them for sale used at inflated prices with only a few hundred miles on them at best.
Actual customs are one offs such as the likes of Indian Larry used to build. The tried and true builders made, and still do make, truly custom rides and they have worked hard to make a name for themselves. It does strike me as a bit strange at how all these new bike builders are making a go of it when the Indian Motorcycle can't seem to get it all together and keep it together. Maybe there were just to many Chief's and not enough Indians to make it work out. Indian should have gone back to their roots and taken one of the original bikes, torn it apart, beefed up the old engine innards to update, stuffed it all back into the old style cases with upgrades and moved up from there. Not using the same after market engine everyone else is using. It also seems that there were just to many people with their hands out who had a tie to the name in one way or the other that to much was put on "How much money are you going to give me" instead of worrying about what truly mattered which was getting the company revamped and solvent. Make a good product first and the revenue would come back. They tried to come back on top after being out of it for so long. You can't start back on top like that. You have to gain peoples trust and show them that you are wanting to give them a good product for the long haul. Not use it for a get rich scheme. Many small companies are making a good run of things by being smart.
These manufactures are what I refer to as Hardley-Davidsons. They may look and sound like a Harley but they are not. But this does not make them bad either, just, they aren't Harley's. Some get confused and think that they are.
Motorcycle kits by www.customchrome.com and Milwaukee Twins available at www.jpcycles.com make some really nice looking rides. Being that I have not had the pleasure to try out any of the many motorcycles being made by these smaller kit companies or the Motorcycle production companies as well, it would not be fair to compare one to the other.
But I have often wondered, and queried a few in the past, at just who do you go to if you need one of these factory rides and the kit bikes worked on. How well made are the RevTech engines and Transmissions in the real world of dailey transportation? Has anyone done a comparison between any of the engine manufacturers out there today? How about frames and components? Joe and Moe make their bikes using off the shelf frames and parts so just what makes one motorcycle worth more or less than the others? And then there are all the kit bikes. How in the world do you really know which one is the better kit? Are they really so complete and manufactured so the parts all fit right, with all the parts being included?
How many of these builders will last and then how good will the warranty be and the parts availability become? If a company folds, the warranty will only be worth the price of the paper it's printed on. What will remain from all these companies when the smoke and dust clears will be the best companies to depend on. But one thing all of these guys, well I should say most, is that they are targeting the high rollers who we'll only be around until the next fad comes in. If these new Chopper builders wish to stay in business then they should look to the future and make affordable motorcycles for the masses. I do think that it is great to have all these men and women builders running these motorcycle companies. It's the spirit of the whole thing like days past when many American motorcycle companies were having a go at it. Companies like www.wickedwomenchoppers.com and www.flyritechoppers.com
My new magazine will try to address many of these questions We'll try to obtain Engines and Transmissions to compare to see how they compare to one another. Hopefully we can get a few kit bikes to put together to be able to tell you just how well they are truly put together. What is included and what is left out. We are also hoping to find the best and most affordable bikes being produced in the Chopper Motorcycle business today.
Then we will find out just who is willing to let us test their rides out in the real world by actually riding them. Not some closed course test with limited time in the seat to make an informed decision. I'd just bet that there won't be many willing to do that out there. We just don't have any of them beating down the doors yet to look their products over and report about them in the magazine. But the ones that do ....... We will make sure you know about them. And the ones who wish to make no comment....well, we'll let you know that they wish to make no comment and leave that at that.

My Friend, Madrocka, made a posting about local bands and musicians getting heard. It is a must read for anyone wishing to support local bands.
I have a fellow right here in North Carolina who knows all to well about the business of being heard. This man is one hell of a song writer/singer, guitarist/fiddle player musician and his heart is in the right place. His Charlie Daniels personally autographed fiddle can make you weep or jump up to your feet.
His taking up the Fiddle is a funny story in itself.
Seems this fellow Bryan knows has bought himself a Fiddle and took lessons to play it for quite some time. He wanted Bryan to come by and hear him play. After all the money spent on lessons and time spent trying to play he still was having problems. The man was frustrated and not being able to play like he wanted but was proud of what he could do. Bryan, having never played a Fiddle asked if he could mess with it some.
The man told him that he was welcome to try it out and if he could play it better than him....he could have it. Bryan sat down for a few minutes getting the feel for where the notes were. He said the first song that popped into his head was the Flintstones cartoon show theme. (He has no idea why) He began to play it and added in some twists of his own while the man stood there with his mouth open. When Bryan was finished playing with the Fiddle ........ the man said "Hell. Take it, it's yours. I've been playing it for a long time and you pick it up and can play it like that after only a few minutes."
Thats how Bryan became a Fiddle player too.
I've known him personally for over thirty years and he is still working the music business with all it's ups and downs. He keeps fighting for it everyday and he fights for the little guy as he knows. Oh, he knows how tough it can be. He performs covers and originals and will play just about any song requested. It's amazing that he just about anything that is requested from Rock to Blues to Bluegrass. His fiddle playing should be called BlurGrass
go check out www.songbear.com to see what he's about. If your up this way check out one of his shows billed under "Thick and Thin" cause your going to love it.

My Blog Page has only 254 views since I put on a counter to see how many stop in. Only 254 people that may have read my words. But then actually I look at it this away. That's 250 more people than would have read my stuff without this blog.
Well, I have had actually a huge number of people read my stuff elsewhere from a Magazine site that I write for. From all over the world as a matter of fact. Thanks to Dawn Skip from the "Soup Kitchen" magazine for printing my "Just an Old Utility Trailer" story over in Britain, I even had a host of readers from all over the world. But Billy Jones of "Bloggingpoet.com" was the reason Dawn even saw my story in the first place.
So yes. I am happier than a pig in a fresh mud puddle to have 254 visitors here. And I have Billy to thank for it all as he keeps me at it.
Merry Christmas Everyone

Christmas joy for the Deaf
Christmas is such a wonderful time for most of us and we all search for the perfect gift in hopes that it will please each person. Sometimes we hit and some times we miss.
Now I do not know if anyone out there has thought about the hard of hearing or the deaf people in the world around them. There may be a child or an older person perhaps, even a not so old person who has difficulty within the world of the hearing. I'll just bet that you may know of someone who is in this predicament and there is a way to make their lives easier. You will also be saving a pet from a shelter.
Dogs for the deaf is an organization that saves these animals from the shelters of doom and gives them a real purpose for a long life. What they do is find dogs that are salvageable and train them to help alert deaf persons in daily alerts that most take for granted. They can be trained as alarm clocks, alert you to the phone, alert you to a fire alarm or a knock at the door. Why, they even train dogs to alert you to the baby crying in the home of a deaf person.
By giving one of these dogs to a deaf child or adult you will be going a long way to giving that person the life and independence they yearn for. And you will be saving a precious animal from certain death. What better Christmas gift for someone to receive from a caring loving person and a wonderful loving pet to boot. A gift that will be welcomed, depended on and adored for many years to come.
There are several places to go to find one of these animals for that person in need. Just for starters go and check out www.dogsforthedeaf.org . It may just be the best gift you'll ever find for that special child or adult in need.

This past Sunday, my son and I spent the afternoon at the Burlington Shrine Club
in Burlington NC of course. They had old Saint Nick there to visit with all the great kids. He looked well rested and ready to begin his trip around the world this coming Saturday Night. We all dined on Hotdogs and Hamburgers and enjoyed talking and laughing with all the kids. What a great group of men and women over at the Shrine Club. Santa was most impressed to say the least.
His only request is that all the children be in bed at least by 9:o'clock this year. He is especially concerned about the children this year due to all this Christmas hoopla. Not to forget that this year many children have had to find new homes due to all the storms so he needs to get going a bit earlier to get to them all. Children who stay up late is cause for him to have to pass their homes until he can make it back when they are asleep. This causes him to waste valuable travel time plus the Reindeer have to work that much harder and longer.
Santa wishes to apologize if you get missed this year due to not being in bed on time. However, he just can not afford to keep going back and forth all night. He has to follow a very strict flight plan this year with the FAA and does not wish to forget or miss anyone. So... All that he asks of you all is to be in bed, asleep, by no later than 9:30 PM as he will be taking off much earlier than in years past. He also asks that you do not get up before 7:am on Christmas morning as this is how far he has been pushed out and may be just leaving your home then. So sleep a bit longer and get to bed earlier and you will find a gift or two under the tree.
Thank you very much in advance,
Santa Claus

Bronze Henry Moore Sculpture is stolen in London.
The sculpture, that weighs a hefty two tons, is reported to have been stolen by three men with a crane and a flatbed truck.
The fractured image of a man performing the sexual oral position on a women is said to be worth 5.3 million dollars. Of course everyone says that it is a sculpture of a person reclining. But take a closer look and you can clearly see that it is a women sitting and braceing herself up on her right arm, her torso in a slight twist. The image of a man is at the waist.
I just wonder how these men got away with this theft with security cameras recording the whole thing.

LONDON (Dec. 17) - Thieves using a flatbed truck and a crane snatched a two-ton Henry Moore bronze of a reclining figure from the grounds of the late sculptor's foundation north of London, police said Saturday.
Hertfordshire Constabulary, APThe bronze Henry Moore sculpture is worth more than $5.3 million. Talk About It: Post Thoughts
Storm Door Installation anyone? Mobile Mower Service?
It is a hassle to get that lawnmower over to the repair shop, much less a Riding mower when they are open. You have to take time off of work, and if they pick up, you have to wait around for them. What if your on your lunch break and only have a short time to wait. Maybe you work out of town so that makes it even harder. If it's only a service job you need then why take it to the shop. I have the training and experience to do service the work as well as engine rebuilds. Why heck, I can even rebuild the transaxles that most all shops send out to an outside source to be done.
That is what I was thinking and then my wife mentioned Storm Door Installations.
Just the other night the wife and I were talking about my job searching. I keep looking and looking for something all over and can't find much. Oh sure there are all the high end jobs on the Job search sites that all require you to have a degree. I don't have a degree for any of those besides, I don't like being cooped up in an office all day. Then there are all those low low paying jobs that you can't survive on. Sure, you'll be working but not much more than just getting by.....maybe.
I was looking in all the papers and the Job search sites and to tell you the truth... getting very depressed at the whole out look of finding a decent job. If I were to go back to my old job I still would be in the same situation as before. At this stage in my life after all the hard work that I've done I should be in a better position.
My wife suggested getting back in the Storm Door side of things. "Who do people call if they need a storm door installed or repaired?" she said.
Now I know you can go to Lowes or Home DePot to buy one but that's about it. They'll install it but when and who will fix, adjust or repair them after the sale? I could service apartment complexes and residential homes.
She told me that to remember that I worked with Storm Doors for over eleven years and, that I have installed them for family and friends on several occasions. Maybe I should look into doing that full time. After all, I have everything that I need to do it.
It was her idea to proceed with it. Looks as if I am at the point of having to work for myself because after all the looking and sending resumes, job interviews for the last six month's has done nothing to get me gainfully employed.
I'm doing the Temp job that has nothing to offer other than a tiny check that barely pays anything. I've tried on several occasions to get my foot in the door at the company they have me at. I've told them of what my qualifications are but they don't care a thing about that. Besides that, I've been finding out that it's not really that good of a place to work.
What do any of you think? Need one of these services?

I am What I am
Why Should I apologize for being a man
I was born this way, I am what I am
I like to look at the ladies , yes it is true
If you are one, well I’ll look at you too
Women will dress in some provocative cloths
Flaunting what they have , should I keep my eyes closed
Boobs and cleavage today its everywhere
The way some dress my wife wouldn’t dare
When I get caught under the spell of my stare
Some they get snide, "Quit looking down there"
Well quit walking round in your underwear
Cause I sure am willing , willing to stare
I really don’t mind it , no not one bit
I love looking at the ladies , so there , that’s it
If you are going to wear those tight dresses and pants
My eyes are gonna do that up and down dance
Some women, they try to play it like a game
Yes , they know men like , a scantily clad dame
They tell their wives , "oh what she wears is a shame"
But truth be known , hey you were checking the same
Some of these women act like we shouldn’t look
Oh , but you know they treat us as crooks
They dress to the hilt , they dress for the kill
And being the men we are , we certainly wish to fulfill
Cover it up if you don’t want me to see
We both know why you wear it , that’s the key
Lovely tanned boobs and butts in plain view
Quit acting like my looking’s not what I should do
Say that I should only look straight into your eyes
While you sit in the chair stroking your thighs
Pretend that your angry if I should make a remark
I can’t keep pretending I’m living in the dark
Its in a mans nature , we are born this way
We get tired of having to apologize for it everyday
We’ve been told to be gentlemen , lord knows we try
But if we keep pretending , well its all just a lie
So , why should I apologize for being a man
I was born this way Mam , I am what I am
I like to look at the ladies, yes its true , I wont lie
Just so you know , I’ll be looking, till the day that I die

Just an Old Utility Trailer
By Wooleybugger
I Am just your old utility trailer that is left to the side , feeling all alone until duty calls yet again. Then you will pull me from the forgotten place where you leave me in the shadows. Never do you pay me any attention unless there is money to be made or a work related task to be performed.
I have carried lots of things for you , and yes , I have even carried you.
Oh once I was brand new to you and you even boasted at what a find I was. Anywhere that you wanted me to go , I was eager to tag along.
Many was the time that you offered and lent me out to family and friends at a moments notice. When the work was completed after long hard hours , I was returned to my home. Sometimes these people would ask that I be available for an entire weekend or full week. It was you however that was lavished with praise. It was you that received the thanks and the adoration for my labor , not I.
This old utility trailer has done what it was asked. Did not matter if I wanted to or not as I was pimped out time and again. Sent out in the snow , ice and rain , or the heat and even in approaching tornados and hurricanes. When it was over , some of the same people that I had just served laughed behind my taillights and snickered at how I looked. All the while I felt good about the deed I had just help complete not knowing that I was being put down for my looks as that was the hot topic when I was gone out of sight. Not how they were thankful or appreciative for my time and effort appeasing their wants and needs.
Carried some awful heavy loads without the assistance from anyone even when it was their desire it be done. The times that I was overloaded no one cared but instead added some more on.
One time when my tires were worn and tired I gave it all I had , being forced to the brink. I was so heavily overloaded that one of my tires burst forth a blast of hot stale air. Didn't count , all the things that I had done for everyone. I was cursed and put down , called lazy and even told I'd let them down. Said I don't follow through and can't fulfill a task.
I may have rumbled and squeaked a little from time to time but , I pushed on and did my job always there for you.
All the while you never seemed to notice that my tires were wearing thin and paid no mind that my air was leaking out. My floor was about to wear out and all my wiring was starting to frazzle from lack of regular maintenance. Have you not noticed that my paint is fading and peeling from lack of much undivided needed attention from you. This old utility trailer needs some tender loving care to continue on.
No ! For when I am no longer needed just push me over there with the expectation I'll be there when the moment strikes you. I am passed by day after day ignored in the corner of the yard , with you knowing surely what I am in need of but don't really care.
Why it wasn't even noticed that my tag was missing for two weeks last year. Luckily it was found and put back where it belonged. One time it was even removed on purpose just to see if you would notice. It was not!
I long for the times that we did some things for fun. Creeping slowly through town in the local Christmas parade with a load of cub scouts safely nestled and riding on my floor. Lets not forget the times I hauled everything for the camping trips and, the to few loaded trips to the beach and even more stuff back.
When the short trips were over, again I was put to the side.... forgotten until the distant next time.
Ah , I am sad to say that this old utility trailer has grown tired of being a mule, always ignored and left out in the cold. It is caring and attention I need as my paint is fading away. Yes ! The time it is running out as my tags expiration date is looming ever closer each day.
My wiring craves tending and my tires need some air to keep moving along. Don't forget that the paint could use a little rub now and again.
Lots of people laugh and scoff at me forgetting what I've done. They treat me just as bad by pretending I'm not there.
Some of these impressionable people take their Que from you.

Richard Pryor dead at 65. I liked his comedy and most of his movies as well. A couple of his movies were not that great but hey, it was Richard up on the screen. The one he did as Wendell Scott the race car driver and the one he did with Cecily Tyson where he drives the school bus are two of my favorites. It just felt that the one as the bus driver was closer to the real Richard as it came across to me.
He was in your face with his early comedy and gave you a new way to look at things. George Carlin was pretty raunchy back then also but got away with it easier then.
It's good that he went quick. But that's how he lived his life so what else would you expect.
R.I.P Richard

Elon University sent me a nice job rejection letter in the mail.
I received one from the city a week ago also. It's tough being older and searching for work that you can actually make a living with. At least they both sent me a letter instead of just giving no reply what so ever like most places do.
When I was younger I kept being told I was under qualified but now it seems that I am over qualified for the positions I wish to try for. Not to forget to mention being told "We are afraid that you won't stay long after viewing your resume."
Jeez man, I've only worked full time at three places in my 24 years of adult employment. Plus, most jobs that I have done in the past and worked my way up through the ranks now requires a degree of some sort. Work experience means squat today with out that piece of paper. Being a loyal long term reliable get the job done employee does not mean a thing anymore. I can't tell you just how many resumes and applications that I have filled out and sent off during the last five months.
A friend of mine told me about jobs at Walmart as he is having to work a full time job and a part time one to support his family of five. He makes $13 an hour at his full time job and can't keep up with the bills and has no heat. At Walmart they told him the pay will be $7 an hour and they say that their pay is a fair pay. They also warned him about these Union people that try to get you to join the Union. Walmart seems to think that $7 an hour is great pay and don't want the Union in there.
At Walmart they also greet you with Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas for fear of all this "We don't want to upset and offend anyone by referring to Christ at Christmas." Well what about the majority of us that they are upsetting with their No Merry Christmas policy??????
But they will sure take your money for buying your Christmas decorations and presents there. I wonder if I walked in and start telling all the customers Merry Christmas if Walmart would have me arrested. Seeing how they are they probably would.
Like the Lady that was upset wrote to the local Paper this week about them greeting her with Happy Holidays and decided to go elsewhere to buy gifts. I'll do the same thing and I won't care how good their prices are.
Good by Walmart. You won't get anymore of my hard earned cash. And Walmart wonders why people boycott building stores in their Cities and Towns. And their low wages drives down the economy as well.
And just why do they think that this City is big enough to have two Walmarts is beyond me.
I wonder if when the movie 'It's a Wonderful life' comes on if they will replace Jimmy Stewart saying Merry Christmas everybody with a voice over as he runs through the town saying "Happy Holidays Everybody"?

Icy conditions and work just don't mix well. At my day job in our morning meetings, they keep telling us about being safe while doing our work. But then it gets me at how they tell us " We expect you to be here even if there is ice or snow on the roads."
So the bottom line is, "get here or else because we don't care if you wreck your vehicle or injure yourself as long as you get here."
Man what is up with that mess? Should I risk having an accident and getting hurt or hurting someone else just for a measly few dollars. A temp job with no benefits. If I wreck my vehicle, then what? I'm still out of a job.
I wonder if they are responsible if I get in an accident to get to work because we are told to come in unless it is two feet of snow and ice on the ground. But of course we have to call in first to see if we are open in that case and if they say come in, then we are supposed to show up. Oh yes, if your late even by a few minutes your docked half a days pay anyway. Is it worth the price for me or you?

Christmas has always been my favorite time of the year. We put up our tree today and did the other decorating too. Only thing is, we didn't do it up as much as we have done in the past with everything displayed around. But the tree has everything on it so all is not lost.
Back when I was growing up in Georgia, my mother and I were the ones who did most of the decorating. Christmas is also her favorite holiday of the year. Me, I would get into it and she and I would put things out and I would even string lights outside on the bushes. She always had this little train and village set out that was so cool. She'd put out gumball trees and I would put gumdrops on all the toothpicks that made up the limbs.
Remember, if your old enough, the tinsel Christmas trees that had a plastic color wheel that you set up and it made the tree change colors. We used one of those a few times and to me it was spectacular to look at. But we went back to a live tree and they were always so spendid. I still like to just look at ours today with all the lights in the house turned off. The tree gives me a soothing calming feeling that makes it tough for me to turn off at bed time. Not to mention that it makes me feel at peace.

T'was the night before Christmas
T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house,
Nothing was stirring, not even my spouse
When down in the den there came a big crash
It was old Saint Nick, he was looking for cash
I snuck down the stairs to have me a peek
Watching in silence at the old sneak
He shook one package and then another
"Well, this will be good for Sammy's big brother"
The small package it went right into the sack
As he took from my plate, another quick snack
Taking a swallow of some more of the eggnog
"Always the same drink I must post on my blog"
"Some Jack Daniels for a change, it would be fine
All this sweet stuff is making me look like a swine
Come to all of these houses hoping to score
But looking like this it don't happen no more"
No one ever really thinks about me
You know, sometimes, Santa's got to pee"
I stepped out and called him a big whiner
That's when he gave me the really nice shiner
Lying on the floor with my fresh broken nose
While up the cold chimney the fat man he rose
He took all the presents and left the tree bare
Next year I'll be sure and show him I care

Youth Minister hangs himself.
I was having a bad day at work today and was at my wits end. So at lunch I had to call the wife just to hear her voice. Even though we are having a hard time lately and things are not going the way we would like them to be going, of all the people that I could have called, she was the only person who came to mind. So I called and just wanting to hear her voice I asked what she was doing. Then I wanted to know what she had planned for dinner tonight and she had no idea. I said "Well I just found some coupons in the paper for Arby's junior Roast beef sandwiches. Six for six dollars. How about I pick some up while I run our son to game masters. Hey! He has been wanting to play Monopoly so we could have a family night. We have not had one of those in a long time."
She said that sounded good but she would take him to the game masters as she would be out that way anyhow.
Then she tells me about the school day the kids are having today. It's not a very good day and our son could maybe use some cheering up as a lot of his friends are upset at the news. Turns out that a youth pastor in town hung himself in the youth ministry chapel at his church and was found this morning.
"Oh my god." I say to her.
She tells me the news that she has heard from one of her customers. After learning this, my day did not seem as bad as my thoughts and prayers went out to all the children and I wondered why he did it. My work day problems just felt so trivial at best and not worth mention.
When I arrive home with the Arby's in tow, my wife tells me the update on the youth minister and why he did what he had done. I give my son a big hug and ask him how he is. Now, he did not know this man but he knows several kids that have attended his ministry. So my son felt extremely bad for all those kids.
My wife then tells me that the youth minister hung himself because of an indictment that was just handed down on him. He was indicted on multiple indecent liberties with under age girls in his group.
Now I truly feel for these young girls and I don't know what to feel except anger at this man who was a trusted youth minister. It doesn't matter at all that the church is a very upscale church ministry or whether it was small, the fact is that this man did the unspeakable. Just who can you trust these days with our children? I just don't know anymore. I really don't.
