Squeaky Hinges at Home ? O'le Lady pissed off cause you came home late?Wooley's gotcha covered.
Hey K.T and Gymi, got another one for you.
Are those pesky door and cabinet hinge squeaks giving you a fit? Are you tired of trying to sneak in late only to have that pesky tattle tale door hinge give you up? How about sneaking a midnight snack and the pantry or cabinet door squeak out loud "Hey! Come quick. Your spouse in sneaking that forbidden midnight snack".
Well take a listen here. I gotcha covered on this one.
I got fed up with all the doors that squeak ever louder it seems when the house is asleep. It's a pisser to try and sneak out to make a midnight store run with doors that holler out louder than a four alarm fire horn. Like many of you out there, I tried the WD-40, Liquid Wrench, 3&1 oil even Vasoline and all the others. They are messy and only work a little while and then...it begins again. That little eke sound that after a few days grows to an ear piercing "SQUEAK, Wooleys home." Not to forget that the little tattle tale mutt begins barking like crazy and won't shut-up while the big dog just rolls it's eyes, knowing it's me, and slowly walks over to give a hello sniff and yawn before lying back down un-alarmed.
So I gotcha covered. Go to the auto parts store and get a small tube of white lithium grease. Pop out your door hinge pins one at a time and apply a thin line of the lithium grease to the pin. Take a finger and spread it all around the pin that goes inside the hinge. Not to much though. You only need a thin layer covering the pin itself. Now tap it back into the hinge and do the others. When your finished work the door back and forth a few times and the pesky squeal and squeak is gone. It works really good on all those bathroom doors and cabinets to. It holds up most dependably over anything else you've tried. It should. It's what the auto manufacturers use on all your auto hinges and it lasts and works in all kinds of out door weather. So you know it will last a very long time in the home. All my homes doors were done way over 2 years ago by me. I've been squeaky free every since.

Fair Tax (A long post but I promise it's worth your time)
A radio talk show host, Neal Boortz, has been talking about this "Fair Tax" issue for several weeks now. He has even written a booklet on the subject that is available on the site. I have not seen anything on the News or in the News Papers about this issue at all. However, Mr. Boortz, and around forty five hundred people, attended a conference on just this subject last week. It seems that so many people showed up for this event that possibly five thousand or more people had to be turned away because there just wasn't enough room. The turn out was far more than anticipated. This entire plan makes more sense than anything that has come out of the IRS or any of the past or present Presidency. Or any of our congressmen/congresswomen who are so bent on keeping things confusing and discussing it to death with no viable solutions what-so-ever.
Below is just a piece of the information available on the subject. There are some very influential people involved with this Fair Tax deal. I just wish that I could remember the one mans name who has been invited by President Bush to the white house to discuss this plan. It makes more sense than our current system which taxes the same dollar several times over.
There is a ton of information on this site for you to read up on about this issue. Might I suggest that after going to the site, you click on the news portion first. This site is so full of information that you would do well to take it in over more than one day.
(The Fair Tax is a comprehensive plan to replace income and payroll taxes).
The FairTax proposal is a comprehensive plan to replace federal income and payroll taxes, including personal, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security/Medicare, self-employment, and corporate taxes. The FairTax proposal integrates such features as a progressive national retail sales tax, dollar-for-dollar revenue replacement, and a rebate to ensure that no American pays such federal taxes up to the poverty level. Included in the FairTax plan is the repeal of the 16th Amendment to the Constitution. The FairTax allows Americans to keep 100 percent of their paychecks (minus any state income taxes), ends corporate taxes and compliance costs hidden in the retail cost of goods and services, and fully funds the federal government while fulfilling the promise of Social Security and Medicare.
Americans take home their whole paychecks. Not only do more Americans have jobs, but they also take home 100 percent of their paychecks (except where state income taxes apply). No federal income taxes or payroll taxes are withheld from paychecks, pensions, or Social Security checks. No federal sales tax up to the poverty level means progressivity like today's tax system.
To ensure no American pays tax on necessities, the FairTax plan provides a prepaid, monthly rebate (prebate) for every registered household to cover the consumption tax spent on necessities up to the federal poverty level. This, along with several other features, is how the FairTax completely untaxes the poor, lowers the tax burden on most, while making the overall rate progressive. However, the FairTax is progressive based on lifestyle/spending choices, rather than simply punishing those taxpayers who are successful. Do you see how much freer life is with the FairTax instead of the income tax? No tax on used goods. The amount you pay to fund the government is totally visible. With the FairTax you are only taxed once on any good or service; the sales tax is charged just as state sales taxes are today. If you choose to buy used goods - used car, used home, used appliances - you do not pay the FairTax. If, as a business owner or farmer, you buy something for strictly business purposes (not for personal consumption), you pay no consumption tax. When you decide what to buy and how much to spend, you see exactly how much you are contributing to the government with each purchase. Retail prices no longer hide corporate taxes or their compliance costs, which drive up costs for those who can least afford to pay.Did you know that hidden income taxes and the cost of complying with them currently make up 20 percent or more percent of all retail prices? It's true. According to Dr. Dale Jorgenson of Harvard University, hidden income taxes are passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices for everything you buy. If competition does not allow prices to rise, corporations lower labor costs, again hurting those who can least afford to lose their jobs. Finally, if prices are as high as competition allows and labor costs are as low as practical, profits/dividends to shareholders are driven down, thereby hurting retirement savings for moms-and-pops and pension funds invested in Corporate America. With the FairTax, the sham of corporate taxation ends, competition drives prices down, more people in America have jobs, and retirement/pension funds see improved performance. The income tax exports our jobs, rather than our products. The FairTax brings jobs home. Most importantly, the FairTax does not burden U.S. exports the way the current income tax system does. The FairTax removes the cost of corporate taxes and compliance costs from the cost of U.S. exports, putting U.S. exports on a level playing field with foreign competitors. Lower prices sharply increase demand for U.S. exports, thereby increasing job creation in U.S. manufacturing sectors. At home, imports are subject to the same FairTax rate as domestically produced goods. Not only does the FairTax put U.S. products sold here on the same tax footing as foreign imports, but the dramatic lowering of compliance costs in comparison to other countries' value-added taxes also gives U.S. products a definitive pricing advantage which foreign tax systems cannot match. The FairTax strategy is revenue neutrality: Neither raise nor lower taxes so consumer costs remain stable. The FairTax pays for all current government operations, including Social Security and Medicare. Government revenues are more stable and predictable than with the federal income tax because consumption is a more constant revenue base than is income. If you were in a 23-percent income tax bracket, the federal government would take $23 out of your paycheck for every $100 you made. With the FairTax, if the federal government gets $23 out of every $100 spent in America, the same total revenue is delivered to the federal government. This is revenue neutrality. So, instead of paycheck-earning Americans paying 7.65 percent of their paychecks in Social Security/Medicare payroll taxes, plus an average of 18 percent of their paychecks in federal income tax, for a total of about 25.65 percent, consumers in America pay only $23 out of every $100. Or about 30 percent at the cash register when they elect to spend on new goods or services for their own personal consumption. And this tax is collected only on spending above the federal poverty level, providing important progressivity. Tax criminals - don't make criminals out of honest taxpayers. Today, the IRS will admit to 25 percent noncompliance with the code. FairTax.org will be generous and simply take the position that this is likely a conservative estimate of the underground economy. However, this does not take into account the criminal/drug/porn economy, which equally conservative estimates put at one trillion dollars of untaxed activity. The FairTax does tax this - criminals love to flash that cash at retail - while continuing to provide the federal penalties so effective in bringing such miscreants to justice. The substantial decrease in points of compliance - from every wage earner, investor, and retiree, down to only retailers - also allows enforcement to concentrate on following the money to criminal activity, rather than making potential criminals out of every taxpayer struggling to decipher the current code.
What is the FairTax plan? The FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax, a rebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar revenue neutrality, and the repeal of the 16th Amendment. This nonpartisan legislation (HR 25/S 25) abolishes all federal personal, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, self-employment, and corporate taxes and replaces them all with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax and collected by existing state sales tax authorities. The FairTax taxes us only on what we choose to spend, not on what we earn. It does not raise any more or less revenue; it is designed to be revenue neutral. So it is also cost neutral and the final cost for goods and services changes little under the FairTax. The FairTax is a fair, efficient, transparent, and intelligent solution to the frustration and inequity of our current tax system.

Fogging Face Shields
This stuff works great and I thought some of you out there might be interested in it. I've used it and have been very satisfied with it myself on many things. One job I had included using a face shield when doing grinding and the use of safety glasses to but the stupid things always fogged up on me. And then there was cutting wood with a chain saw while wearing safety glasses that kept fogging up. Not a good thing to be using a chainsaw when you can't see.
When you get out on the road the last thing you need is a face shield or goggles to fog up on you as well. Heat and humidity can blur your vision and at night, it can be even worse. Now I don't wear eye glasses...yet, but for those of you that do this can help. I'm talking about something that I found years ago and it works better than anything that I had tried before. It is called "Parkers Perfect" and works on Eye Glasses, Goggles, safety glasses face shields, mirrors (In your vehicle or the shower) and even the windows of your vehicle or plane. (I hate it when I fly and the windows fog up. j/k)
All you have to do is spray both sides of your eye wear etc, and let it dry to keep the fog away. I've even used it in my shower because I like it HOT but hate trying to keep the steam wiped off the derned mirror. So I tried this stuff on it and it worked there to.
This stuff isn't cheap but a small amount is all it takes to get the job done...and it also works as a cleaner to remove facial oils, hairspray, make-up and sweat.
You can check them out at www.parkersperfect.com or Visit the ParBur Labs located at 135 Lake View St. Hollister, MO 65672. (800) 884-8005.
Just tell them Wooley sent ya over. They'll give you a crazy look because they have no idea who the hell I am.

Working On The Magazine
I've been trying to figure which is the best system to use for the "Two Wheel Traveler" magazine. At the moment it looks all very confusing to say the least. But which one should I use? Quark, Adobe InDesign 2.0 etc, etc. This is the high tech route that is accepted at most printers these days and the files can be sent directly to them for printing. Thing is though, the old sheet fed process can still be utilized for a smaller publication and sent snail mail or hand deliver. Being that I am one of those late in the game computer users, I get flustrated, yes I said flustrated as in; flustered while at the same time getting frustrated.
The old type of page layout is much easier for me to manipulate rather than trying out a computer software program. And the old way is much cheaper for a miniscule budget as mine instead of the over $600 and up for the software.
If you go online and try to find information on printing or page layout the old way, you'll not find anything on it that shows or tells you how. You will find a ton of information that is vague at best and often. Page after page of software information and yet, it still won't show you how to do page layouts.
Now, I have my magazine in the works and on a file with some of the content but I still need to get out and get a few articles done up on some bikes and get pictures. I'm going for a small first issue somewhere in the forty to forty eight page range with a few advertisers to start with. My first copy issue of the Easy Riders magazine of 1971 began small as did Playboy. The Easy Rider magazine is an inspiration for me and is a good reference at how to begin.
I'll close this post now as I just wanted to let anyone interested about where I've been instead of blogging. The magazine and the Dream Ride are taking most of my limited time during the week.

Easy Rider The Movie
I remember seeing Easy Rider the movie on the big screen. It was to one of those midnight movie deals theatres had way, way back when I was younger. Not even sure any theatres do that anymore. It was only a buck or two to get in to see a movie after most people had gone home to sleep. Those were the days I tell you that I guess are gone now for teenagers. Just like the good old Drive-In theatres that gave movie going more of an outing with the girlfriends. The movies could be cheesy but hey! Who watched most of them anyway?
But the movie Easy Rider...The movie sucked me in and Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper had me wanting to get a chopper so I could travel on two wheels and just be free. This movie isn't actually a biker movie as biker movies go. It was more of a movie about two people trying to find what isn't there and how we all wish sometimes, that we could all just be free from life's expectancies and time constraints. It could have just as well have been two men in a 69 Camaro looking and searching for America.
After all, Camaro means friend.

Here are some bikes I'm checking out. Notice anything about all of them? The white with flames is a 1978 that need some work but does run. Has some rust and could use some scrub time. But heh! I'm not looking for no show bike. If it Show enough runs then that is Show enough for me.
The black bike is pretty dern nice. That big headlight would have to go though and the mag front wheel to. The rear mag could stay because saddle bags will mostly cover it anyhow.
The grey one is a 1984 Low Rider. Well it's perty derned nice also. The front mag would ditto the above. Dig the seat and P-Pad on this one. I think they go good together but the bars...I don't know about them. It matches closely to my truck color.
The maroon one is a 1981 Low rider that is really sweet. Dig the color of this bike and the wire wheels are already there. The seat would have to go even if it is nice. To me it looks kinda bulky and the passenger half just overwhelem the back fender. A nice solo and P- pad would do it justice.
One thing that some think is a fine selling point is how loud the pipes are. Some noise is fine to me but straight threw pipes don't get it anymore. No need to get so much notice from the donut shop patrons. And it's hard to sneak home in the middle of the night with them. Give me some better than stock rumble but not ear splitting head ache loud.
All of these bikes are in the right price range for me. To many want way to much for their bikes and some more than a new one. Just because you bolted on some chrome goodies that I'd probably trash anyhow is no justification for a huge asking price. Used Harleys have gone through the roof.
One thing you will notice about all these bikes is not a one is an Evo. Nothing wrong with any of the newer mills from 1984 on up. I just like the older bikes and like the fact of one that may need some work. Having to work some on a vehicle of any sort makes it feel more like mine. I'm also having a tough time justifying $12,000 for a new Dyna. Well, mostly the payments on one makes my head spin. Probably because I haven't had to make a payment for years.
Have any of you seen the one that has really caught my interest?

Dyna Super Glide.
Well, I done finally went to the Davis HD here in Burlington. Couldn't help myself because my last visit to an H-D dealership left me with a sour taste in my mouth. www.davishd.com used to be right next door to where I worked on North Park Ave. The old building was small and did not have much room for Motorcycles to be displayed. The newer building is right off the interstate in a mucho larger place. What's pretty cool is the 1946 Servi car that was used by the Liberty NC police department on display. There are several restored Panheads out of reach overhead to gander at also.
When I first went in I was left alone to look at the nice assortment of New bikes on the sales floor. Or maybe I was being ignored. I didn't get that feeling though and I do like being able to look things over without being pounced on. It was only five minutes or so of actually looking at the bikes before the sales manager, Terri Wall, came over. I was checking out the FXDI Dyna Super Glide covered in fire red pearl over by the window. I'd really like to have a vivid black one, which I can get, and spoke wheels over the mags. Terri checked to see if spokes are an option and as always with me and what I want...they're not. Guess I could chunk the mags though later. The main reason I'd want the black is because I'd be in the mind to change the color anyhow and replace the tank with a larger one. Forward controls would be a needed application as well. Some small apes are to my liking because I've ridden with the drag bar deal and though alright, decided it's not what I want. That's the beauty of the FXDI is that it's not all loaded down and is a nice canvas to make your own.
The bike is rated at 50 mpg hwy/44 city with the price tag for black at $12,195. I like the solo seat as I know I'm a solo rider these days. Well, being that the two bikes I have are in pieces and one is more complete than the other. But before my Sportster was stolen I rode solo most often because I like it that way. My Panhead has been a project in waiting for to many years but I can't part with it. I've had it for so long now it's like family to me. (My pop had an antique car like that too). The Yamaha is a lost cause. It has a ton of good parts, except the rear fender which is toasted, and a complete engine and I have the whole bike now torn down. My Sportster, even though it had a king & queen that I left on for my girl friend, I prefer the look of a single seat. Perhaps with a P Pad on the fender. Speaking of Sportsters, they had a bunch of nice ones but they are a bit small for me. I prefer a longer frame with a low slung look with just a tad of stretch. I could build one for around $5000 although to get the look I like. The new sportys' do get great mileage with 57 hwy/ 48 city with a carb.
Oh well, I'm still looking for an affordable Shovel head by the way. Some I've found are going for about what they cost new in their day. Others are selling for way, way to much and if I was going to pay those prices then hell! I'd just buy a new bike.
Might go back and look at that Dyna again. Who knows.

I Don't Want To Talk About It.
That was the response I got today when trying to discuss what is going on with all this illegal alien status. Some people are tired of hearing about it and just hope that by ignoring it, it will go away. After all, isn't that what or own government has done for decades, ignore it for to long until it has grown so huge? Ignoring it and not discussing it is just the reason things have gotten so out of hand.
This illegal thing is nothing new. I can remember people talking about illegals crossing the border back when I was in high school. Then again off and on through the years at places I worked. Everything that has happened with illegals crossing the borders from Mexico has been a known fact for years. But the government and most people just didn't want to think or talk about it.
Now I can't think of any person that I have talked to about it who has said anything against any group who has come here by legal means. Not a one. But the Mexicans are trying to leave out the ILLEGAL part and make it sound like a racial thing and that we don't want any immigrants country coming here to live and work. That is not the case at all no matter how much they try to twist it around.
What if the rest of us in this country decide if the illegals can get away without paying into the system, then why should we. I mean, we've earned it to haven't we? After all it's our money and work that has kept things going so maybe we are the ones who should get the break.
Immigrants did in fact help to make this country what it is today. Immigrants contribute greatly to the American way of life. Immigrants have brought many varied talents here in all facets of our society. But most came here with the right way and learned the American way and language as well. They let there past be known and are proud of what they have done to contribute. They didn't sneak over and try to keep themselves separate. Immigrants are a blessing to the USA and everything it stands for. But illegals just want to take and take and give nothing back.
Sure they buy things and pay sales tax on that but do they pay any local, state, federal or social security taxes? In your own communities you pay these fees and taxes and as the growth rate climbs up with more people who don't pay into the system, it puts an even higher burden on those of us, legal immigrants as well, to make up their difference. If you have 100,000 people in a city paying into the system but an influx of 20,000 illegals, then who has to make up the difference for the extra burden of 20,000 on utilities and taxes. Where does the extra money come from to cover the added operating costs of local, state and federal government? It comes from those of us here legally, that's where. All those immigrants who came here for a better life and became legal citizens are the same as us, American citizens and they are getting screwed just as much as the rest of us. Probably more because they had to go through a lot to become a citizen.
If you give all the illegals citizenship then what are we saying to the rest of the immigrants that wish to come here. They will all expect us to just give them what they want and the flood gates will crash open.
Hey! The illegals want to have a protest against American citizens? Well we can protest them as well. For now on if they wish to buy fuel, have them show they are here legally. Same goes for any other establishment and or government office. Not a citizen or have a work visa, then you can't buy or work here period. Can't buy a car, house, rent an apartment, alcohol, movie ticket, tires, clothes, shoes. Absolutely no work for an illegal of any sort. They want to show us how important illegals are here to us then let's show them by cutting off what they get for free and refusing them any form of service. They want to try and push us into a corner and dictate to us what demands they have. Let's push them back by playing there own game. We'll be peaceful about it. We need to get together with our American flag and march through their communities and make our demands known as well to them.
We're not saying no to Immigrants as a whole as we embrace and welcome you, just the illegal ones.

You Didn't Tip The Flower Delivery Guy!
Look, I know it's customary to tip the Pizza delivery person, waitress/waiter, porter, the paper people and perhaps the Taxi driver. But how many tip the Flower delivery person?
I'll just bet you will tip the pretty waitress or the handsome waiter and, you tip the Pizza person because it's well known if you tip well, then next time you order pizza you'll get yours first over the low or no tipper.
For the Flower delivery person and the pizza person, they use their own gas most times to make your delivery to you. They also don't make the best of wages either so they count on tips.
Here is another misconception; White guys make more money so they don't need a tip. What ever gave people that crazy idea? Minorities, and female flower delivery persons will pull in good tips but the white male hardly gets any. Just remember that next time you send flowers to your loved one or you are the receiver.
Mothers Day is just around the corner so remember (ALL) the flowers that have to be delivered.
The flower delivery MAN could use a tip too.
