Just a shadow of who you thought you wanted to be
You’ve tried a lot of things but pursued nothing
Used to dream of a life with multiple pleasures
Thought that if you work hard enough , long enough
That you would redeem all of your treasures

Its not in reality the scheme of things
Always told keep your nose to the grindstone
Hard work will be noticed and you’ll soon move up
Keep putting in your time working overtime
When you add it all up still not worth a dime

Promises made you decided and stayed
Oh but you soon found out , they all had lied
Thought that if you worked hard enough
