Rosa Parks to lie in the Rotunda.
That is so WOW for a women who came from being a seamstress, stood up for her rights, in a time that it took great courage for a black women to do such a thing.
What had happened during her day that made her be so defiant? I doubt that she planned on all the limelight that was cast on her. She was probably just a tired Black women, who became that day, sick and tired of being treated, like many others, as less than even a second class citizen. All she wanted to do was ride the bus to her destination and go about her business. But others would not let her be and caused trouble just because of where she sat on the bus.
Unbeknownst to her, she would be the catalyst that got attention to the treatment of Blacks in our country like no others had been able to do before. What was so wrong with what she did by sitting in that seat in the front? Nothing but the color of her skin back then. And that should not be a crime.
We could sure use more Rosa Parks in the world today. Sometimes it takes an extraordinary action of just one to make a huge impact and change the world for the better.
