New Negativism.

"Instead of fighting inflation by widening job opportunities and providing social services to help the poor to become producers and earners, New Negativism wants to cut government spending and increase unemployment.
Since today's inflation is concentrated in food, shelter, energy and health costs, that won't work. Prices for the essentials are rising at double the rate of increase for nonessential goods. Since they form the bulk of poor families' budgets, this kind of inflation hits the poor the hardest. So the New Negativism would have the poor bear a double burden--- loss of job opportunities and higher prices for food and other basics."
