Fathers Day Music Gifts

On top of all else I got for fathers day were two music CD's. Alright, so I'm not really a big fan of the christian rock scene but about two years back my son turned me onto a few that rock out, like Skillet. Skillet is my favorite one and he gave me their "Skillet Awake" CD...it kicks.

The other CD I got is "Green Day, 21st century Breakdown." My son knows I dig the hell out of this band, in fact I turned him on to them. It was kinda like this, he said "Dad listen to this." (Meaning Christian rock), and in turn I said "Okay, but you listen to this." (Meaning Green Day and the Goo Goo Dolls).
But as it is he gave me the Green Day and it fricken rocks like hell. Skillet may sizzle but Green Day Burns Hot. I was blaring it, Green Day, way up on the way home today and it's full of songs that make you want to yell, "Screw the man" and to chance getting a speeding ticket. Yep, like the old days of pounding rock and roll speed on down the hi-way who cares where I'm driving cause I'm just driving and rockin out type of music. I know, what a mix 'eh.

Skillet gave me an idea for another kick ass tour though with some other heavy hittin Christian bands (This isn't our parents Christian rock I tell you what). My idea for a tour like that would be called "Rockin the Devil to Hell Tour" Complete with concert posters and T-shirts with band members throwing big rocks at the Devil depicting stoneing him to death. Get it? Rockin the Devil to Hell. It was just a cool thought I thunk up. But I'm a magazine tycoon-a-bee now and concert promotion is shelved.
