Addition To My Previous Subject about print media,

"All good things must come to an end." I found this article, click the link, to be right on target. You may as well if you can read the whole thing. It just mirrors my thinking about why we must save and support print media. I wonder how many will read the whole thing or will just skim over it by getting bored. Reading itself has become an art in and of itself. The more we delve into the digital age of media the more of ourselves we lose.

OK, I started reading the article, while thinking about the challenge of reading the WHOLE thing, and after about five paragraphs I started skimming, then just went to the comments and they looked like chapters.

Reading is for enjoyment and I have five books on my shelf that I recently purchased, but can't find time to read. I'll take two on my summer ride to hopefully get to at days end. I get a couple of bike rags and read them cover to cover, so it really isn't net medis vs print media; it is interesting media that holds my attention.

hmmm, personally ive found myself reading books more, not less. maybe im fighting the trend. maybe the trend isnt of interest to me. maybe i am soaking in the quiet times when i can relax with a book and let myself escape into whatever the material is.

AHD,
Got boring though didn't it and admit it, you were just ready to click on something else with shorter content. It's tougher to get into reading something on line to me, even if the content is good. I also happen upon good stuff but then forget where in the heck I was reading it at on line. Your correct that reading is for enjoyment, or escape, and sitting in a campsite in a tent at night is awesome. Not to forget that reading in the outhouse is way better than looking at cobwebs or carving your name in the wall.

mq01,
I must say that I have been reading more books the last year or so. "Go Down Together"; "The days of Henry Thoreau"(again); "The Original Wild Ones"; "Hells Angels into the abyss"; "The Art of Full Body Massage"; about five Louis L" Amour books so far and counting , plus several others. I like getting lost in reading anywhere I please. Sit back and just get comfy.
