Robert Benoit - Somewhere My Love/Lara's Theme

For My Mother

Today in the mail I received my mothers Death Certificate. It took me a little while to bring myself to open it. I sat on the front porch and was thinking of her. I don't know why but while in the hospital with her I remembered how much she loved this movie and the theme song. Today with that certificate in my hands I couldn't help but think that all her life is now summed up on one little sheet of paper. She was a fine singer, pianist and artist of pastels. When we were little she would be singing or humming a tune more often than not. Then she fell ill all those years ago and it all pretty much ended.

But even now as I type this so she can have more than one little sheet of paper to sum up her life, I can hear that special happy, happy laugh she had way back then; can picture her sitting at the piano under the Chrystal lights lost in the music.

I want to write of her sickness but dare not because I want to remember the good times we shared. This will probably be the last post I do of her but I wanted , at least, a small part of the world to know that her life before was better than the life in later years.

She came back to us at the end, if only briefly and all was forgiven and she knew her time was come to go home. Your balloon will be flying soon.

This ones for you mom.

I think that is a very nice thing you said about your mom. Life isn't always perfect, but the memories we choose to hold on to... are.

I'm glad you were able to see her before she passed. It seems like it was what you needed.

Very nice tribute... I'm sure she's smiling upon it.

Gone....but not forgotten are the words that come to mind. I'm sure your mother touched the life of others, as well as her family, and that is where her legacy resides.

May she forever rest in peace.

The accomplishments of ones life can be seen by what they leave behind. Your Mom left you behind and you’re a good son and person.

A strong man is in touch with everything around him. He can see good when everything around him is bad. He can see right when everything around him is wrong. In turn he can see bad and wrong when everything around him good and right.

How did he gain his strength? Through a woman who will always be known as Mom. Her persuassion and power, love and wrath will be felt and taken heed to for all time if she has accomplished her task.

If she is remembered and a tribute is sent out on her behalf...then she is assurred that she has perfectly executed her charge.

You have completed her mission with this tribute, which means you are completing your mission as a son.

She is smiling right now. Thanks brother.
