HardKnock Motorcycles
Check out these Babies. While searching around the net trying to find out how to reline a motorcycle helmet I found these bikes. Gas crunch answer for you from 49cc to a 250cc V-twin and the prices aren't bad either, all with features of a larger bike. Way better than a Moped and cooler than a ton of those cheap china scooters to boot.
Their Kikker 5150 Hardknock Frisco Chopper is a kit bobber with all metal parts, no plastic bits they say, and can be had with either the 49cc, 125cc, 200cc or the already mentioned 250cc 4 stroke 4 speed tranny engine. You can find out lots more here about them http://www.kikker5150.com/hardknock.html
or the manufactures home page http://www.kikker5150.com/indexb.html

Why is it I think that the ladies riding one of those don't really look like the one in the picture?

Those bikes are a great idea if someone doesn't want a scooter or a 250 cc bike.

Me thinks the gas mileage would be incredible. My Suzuki TU 250 got 80 mpg.

I don't doubt your thinking on picture, it's the old adage "sex sells" you know.

The bikes remind me of the old Harley Hummers in a way that appealed to the younger crowd. They used German designed engines, so you see, the idea of the V-Rod engine of German design is nothing new between countries. Sportsters borrowed the Hummer gas tanks later known as the Peanut tank.

80mpg is real good, these little guys probably get that and perhaps 100mpg for the smaller ones.
