Long Time Ago
5/5/03 )

EVERY TIME THAT I LOOKED INTO YOUR EYES
THE CLOUDS THEY PARTED LEAVING ONLY BLUE SKIES
OH, WHENEVER YOU WERE STANDING SO NEAR
I WAS LONGING TO HOLD YOU AND CALL YOU MY DEAR

(Chorus)
THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME AGO - THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME AGO - THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME AGO
AND I WONDER WHERE - YOU ARE NOW
I WONDER WHERE - YOU ARE NOW

I CAN STILL SEE YOU WITH YOUR FRIEND IN THE SUN
YOU WERE LAUGHING AND TALKING HAVING SO MUCH FUN
REMEMBER THE PERFUME THAT YOU WOULD WEAR
CAN STILL SMELL THE SCENT OF SHAMPOO THAT WAS IN YOUR HAIR

(Chorus)
BUT THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME AGO - THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME AGO
THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME AGO - THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME AGO
AND I WONDER WHERE - ARE YOU NOW
I WONDER WHERE - ARE YOU NOW

DO YOU EVER STILL THINK OF ME
WONDER WHAT I’VE BEEN DOING WHERE COULD I BE
WISH YOU COULD REACH OUT AND HOLD MY HAND
STAR CROSSED LOVERS WALKING ALONE ON THE SAND

(Chorus)
BUT THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME AGO - THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME AGO
THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME AGO - THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME AGO
AND I WONDER WHERE - ARE YOU NOW
I WONDER WHERE - ARE YOU NOW

I HOPE THAT YOUR HAPPY WHERE EVER YOU ARE
ALL OF YOUR WISHES GRANTED ON A STAR
PRAY THAT YOUR JUST WHERE YOU WANT TO BE
ALL THAT I ASK IS SOMETIMES - THINK OF ME (REPEAT CHORUS)

I love poetry/lyrics...whenever I read them, it always seems to hit where ever I am at in the "mood" scheme of things. I write too. I have a few books of just poems I have written.
Nice.

The "mood" is the same for me. I can't just sit and write something to just write it. It has to be triggered. I have probably a books worth of them myself but some seem just so so after I go back and look at them. But it is fun non-the-less.

Why don't you let us see some of yours too KT?

My friend Billy the (blogging poet)is different in that he finds a poem in most everything. He can be sitting there and BAM, another one comes out. You would love his book "Carrot on a Stick."

I think I will take a look at the book.. Thanks...I had a poem on my blog at one time but I felt funny about it...sorta like you looking back on yours....I write when I am down...don't ask me why it just comes out that way...I will take a look.. I have a lousy cold again and have nothing to do so I might as well....I will gladly see what I can come up with as far as a flyer...I am not at all that computer savy, but I will try. We have time in any case since I think this run will probably take place next year at the earliest, but we will pursue this dream of yours and make it come true in any case.

I can't tell you how greatful I am that you want to help out with this. Somehow it feels like it become a reality.
Sometime next year is probably realistic. Something like this just can't be done on a short notice. People need to be able to plan vacation and such for such a feat. Getting the word out will take some time as well. Maybe some well placed teasers put here and there in the papers and bike magazines and sites too. One cool thing might be a T-shirt or two I can wear around saying something like "Coming soon,Wooleys Dream Ride" with a picture of a man and women biker next to a bike knealing with a child in a wheel chair.

I'm not good at a ton of things on the computer either. For instance, I found the ride patch sewout but can't get it from the filing cabinet to my blog. Arrrgggghh.
Other things I can do, but the picture part drives me bonkers. I've tried to cut and paste, drag and other hooplah but to no avail. It is saved in an old email and it tells me that it can no longer be sent when I try to forward it. I'll have to print it out, find someone with a scanner and send it back to myself I guess.

I can do up a flyer pretty easy but have to see what I want to put in it. You know, ideas and wording and such.

If that cold gets to you let me know. I'll send someone to drag it outside and beat it up for you. hehe
