Magazine Publishing

I'm wondering if any of my fellow bloggers are in or know someone in magazine, trader papers and the like publishing. I'm looking for someone reasonable. Of course the editor of Alamance Magazine, with whom I'd talked to at length a year and a half ago and just printed my article ending five years of drought, is willing to discuss this with me. Although he suggests going with an on line Magazine as I wrote for before. But me, I want a print magazine myself and it just won't die.

And with Iowa Harley Girls find of an artist she interviewed, I think she just handed me on a platter the artists I've been looking for, for the Magazine. You have any idea how long I've searched? It's been a long road and many hours and days, years, and Stephanie just plops the one right there on her blog and I KNEW it when I saw the first painting. The other artist's I've spoken with are needed to but theirs is a different, in cartoon type style.
What I need is a partner/backer to launch my "Two Wheel Traveler" magazine. Somebody laid claim to my magazines name, after I had already established a blog title page, so the website would have to be slightly different. I ain't buying my name from someone who dipped in there literally within hours of my doing the blog page few years ago. These people obviously search for these things then buy up the name so you have to buy it from them. But that's off the subject isn't It?

Errr...man! I have been just a bit busy and I apologize for not sending the sketch you were asking for. Give me another week or so.

My brother works for a print house. I'll call him and see what he thinks.

As far as the online vs. the print. I love print because I can rip out pictures and glue them to my wall. Most of the programs that they use to put together print material are digital anyway. This makes it easy to do BOTH. Develop the print version with the online aspect in mind.

Most of the publishing programs used are already geared for spitting out web ready crap anyway...with the press of a button.

I'll work on my flakyness. My guitar has been taking up alot of time. That's your fault bro!

I know you've been busy with all that wedding mess to. lol

Your brother? Hey, maybe he can point me somewhere eh.

I've checked out some of those publishing programs and I also find that Mac's seem to be the best way to go for this sort of thing. I don't have a Mac though, maybe soon.

When you master that guitar and hit the big time you can blame it on me all you want and I'll take it...in the form of a CHECK.

IowaHarleygirl,

She does sound like a cool and interesting person and I get the feeling she is a card as well. Very inspirational too. I still need to contact her but probably after Fathers day, ya know.

Helping me out, you sure did Stephanie and ummm, I'm going to use that article in the mag
