I Must Be Going Mad
Yep, it must be I am going mad. I went out this afternoon to start the bike and guess what? You'll never guess but go ahead anyway, I'll wait.

Guessed yet? It wouldn't start. After checking things over I believe I have it down to the coil is bad. The spark was real weak and now it has nothing. My analog meter took a piss on me so I had to try and figure out on the wing how to use my DRO meter. Still trying to figure out if .05 is 5 ohms or not. Arrrgggghhh. At first I got hot under the collar but then I started laughing uncontrollably. I mean it's just one thing puking on this bike after another. Now I have sticker shock at coil prices.
The one on my bike looks to be a Dynatek Dyna-mite 5 ohm coil which at J&P catalog number 381-233 is $80. But the fitment chart does not show this being the one for my bike. So I go into this fit of laughter again because ya know...it just figures.

A bad coil is possible but rare. I would double check all connections and the plug wires and condenser first.
Hey Willy, Ya, the coil was deader than a flat frog on a hot highway and split open on one end.
