Jagged Metal Found in Chip Bag

Today while eating some chips, my son found a jagged piece of metal about and inch long in the bag. According to his mother it was shaped like an arrowhead and was very sharp. Had he tipped the bag up to his mouth to get the last few crumbs, he probably would have been cut in his mouth.
His mother took the bag back to the store and told the manager, who tried to give her a new bag. She said no that all she wanted to do was inform them so they could check the other bags on the shelf.
Needless to say, I did not see it because I was at work but my son says that the metal looked like a piece of flashing tin and it had been pushed through the bottom of the bag near the seam.

Sounds to me like a case of tampering by someone shopping in the store. I'm just glad my son pours the contents out before eating them. Had he tipped up the bag to get the last crumbs this would have had a terrible outcome.

Hope she kept the bag. She should IMMEDIATELY take it to the authorities!! They need to know in case of any others that were/or will be reported. Glad he's okay.

No she didn't keep the bag which was a bad move. I could not believe it that she gave it to a store manager thinking they will do the right thing. Now it will all be swept under the rug.

Wow, I'm so glad your son is okay. That is so scary! I would still tell the authorities. A lot of times they have the big picture that no one sees at first. You can give the manager's name and they can follow up with that person. No name, just give the time and date she took the bag to the store. They will figure it out.

I think Betty has some good advice.
